For the launch of our new professional arm, the Oriental Culinary Institute, the legendary Ken Hom, master of Chinese cooking will be joining us for an evening Masterclass at School of Wok!
Start your day with a tour around the enigmatic Chinatown discovering all that it has to offer and enjoying breakfast and lunch in some of the more rustic eateries of London Chinatown, whilst going to the specialist Oriental food stores to learn about all the different vegetables. The last 3 hours of the day are dedicated to prepping and cooking exquisite seafood dishes.
Seafood and fish are a staple part of an oriental diet and provide great health benefits. Did you know that serving a whole fish in Chinese culture symbolises prosperity and an abundance in life? Join us and learn how to keep your fish and seafood fresh whilst balancing oriental flavours, it’s all about understand the quick cooking techniques. You will also have the chance to deal with live crabs or prepare squid.
Key skills you have to know when cooking a Chinese banquet are learning how to use a wok and simple things such as making simple dumplings or spring rolls. Join us for a Wok and Roll class and you will discover the secrets of making succulents stir fries and dumplings for a great dinner party meal.
